Places of interest in the area

Town: Jindřichův Hradec

In the town are many interesting sites to see and visit. The nicest are the beautiful castle and the working nativity in the museum. This is the largest moving nativity in the world and is listed in the Guinness book of records. These are two "must see" attractions.

Further information about the town as well as the surrounding area you will find in the tourist guide which we will be glad to lend you.

Distance of other surrounding historical cities and monuments:

Landštejn castle 26km, Červená Lhota castle 18km, Hluboká castle 50km, Nové Hrady (castle) 50km, Český Krumlov (castle) 67km, Jihlava 74km, Třeboň 25km, Třebíč 86km, Dačice (castle) 34km, Telč (castle) 43km, Pelhřimov 44km, Tábor 43km

Sport and Culture

Swimming is possible in many nearby ponds. Of the many ponds in southern Bohemia we recommend the sandy bottomed Jindris which is 3km away or a second one in the direction of Pelhrimov which is 6km away.

A covered pool with sauna and massage is located 2 km away in the neighborhood housing estate "Vajgar".

Fishing is available in nearby ponds as well as in a pond Vajgar in the town. Tennis is also available in the town. Many trails for hiking and cycling can be found in the surrounding picturesque forests.

A narrow-gauge train runs north from Jindrichuv Hradec to Obratan and south to Nova Bystrice through the beautiful landscape known as the Czech Canada.

Further information about sport and culture are available in the infromation center in the Panska street and on the city web site.

There are many quaint shops, where it is possible to buy a wide range of goods – such as original ceramics, paintings, and souvenirs.

There are also several supermarkets (Billa, Penny, Hypernova) in the nearby area as well as a grocery store just 90 meters away.
